At the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc., we believe in supporting our employees’ well-being and professional growth.

Full and part time staff are eligible for employee benefits 60 days to the first of the month after date of hire.

Here are some highlights of our comprehensive benefits package:

• Health Insurance:

Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurances with various plan options are available. Pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts are also available. 

• Life Insurance:

100% employer-paid $50,000 basic term life insurance policy.

• Long-Term Disability:

100% employer paid. This long-term benefit provides a source of income once short-term disability benefits end and may last up until age 65. If the employee is unable to work, the policy covers 60% of the employee’s monthly wages (capped at $5,000 per month) and coverage commences on the 91st day of disability.

• Work-Life Balance:

We understand that time for yourself, family, and education is important. At the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc., there are no overnights – that’s more time for you to spend doing the things you value. For the convenience of our patients, our Buffalo location is open until 8 p.m. four days a week and has Saturday hours.

• Tuition Assistance Plan:

Invest in your professional development with our Tuition Assistance Plan, available to full and part time staff after one year of service. Reimbursement is based on course conclusion and grades earned.

• Sick Leave Days:

Sick time accrues at one hour for every 30 hours worked for all staff. Accrual caps at 56 hours yearly. Remaining sick hours at year-end transfer into a Sick Bank (capped at 240 hours).

• Vacation Leave Days:

New employees are eligible to use Vacation Time beginning with the 91st day of employment. Full-time employees receive 10-15 vacation days (dependent on position) on January 1 to use throughout the year, and balances may not be carried across calendar years. Vacation time is prorated during the first year of employment. Hours are pro-rated if employee is part-time.

• Personal Leave Days:

Full-time employees receive one personal day per quarter, accruing to a maximum of eight days. Hours are pro-rated if employee is part-time.

• Observed Holidays:

Our organization recognizes eight holidays throughout the year: New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Day after Thanksgiving; and Christmas Day.

• Employment Assistance Program:

All employees can access 24-hours a day, seven days a week, professional, confidential services to help improve their quality of life. 100% employer paid. 

• Retirement Plan:

Start saving for your future with our 401K plan. Employees are eligible to contribute the first day of the quarter following six months of employment. Employer match begins the quarter following one year of employment and 1,000 hours worked. Employer matches 100% of the first 3% of employee salary contributions and matches 50% on the next 2% (at employer discretion).
